We planned to see our local lion dance troupe perform for Chinese New Year. Instead my Chinese New Year was spent assembling everything I needed for the submitting our I600A to USCIS and the 12 documents I had ready to send of to NYS Deparrtment of State for authentication. Our newly acquired home study needed to be subitted at our appointment with immigration and another copy had to be certified by the county so it could be included with the pile going to the state. Everything was laid out in their respective folders. In my growing late night fatigue I looked over everything again and found a home study in the wrong place.
I took it out. (dun, dun, dun)
Well, as we were getting things squared away at USCIS I realized that in my sleepy daze and the general confusion one has when attemping to organize a bureaucratic process that is as red as it can be, requiring flow charts that would look as tangled as a road map I needed that 2nd home study and it was exactly where it should have been.
Steve and I drove the 40 minutes back home so we could get pile #2 sent off to the state.
All in all it was a good day. Happy Year of the Pig... this is my year afterall...grunt!
