Thanks to Tom (who commented and let me know!) it seems that the links, originally found at the bottom of this post, to the aid organizations mobilized in China was removed. So I am adding a new list here:
International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies
World Vision
Mercy Corps
Save the Children
As you all know there has been a devastating earthquake in China's Sichuan province. Several orphanages are in this area. Our agency, Great Wall China Adoption has set up an emergency relief fund for those orphanages. If you want to help out there is a donation form and contact information here. I am sure it will be a while before we get specific news on the impact to these orphanages. You can follow frequent updates from the NPR correspondents who have been stationed in Chengdu the capitol city of Sichuan province. They have been in place in preparation for a week long report for All Things Considered that is slated to air the week of May 19 which I planned to stay on top of to maintain a connection to China as I wait for our daughter. I started my Sichuan posts here.
I worry about the devastation there (as I have worried about the horrors in Myanmar) right away I worried about any orphanages, the children and their devoted caretakers, located there and I pray for news as I hope that that news will be positive. A lump rose in my throat as I thought of people who's adoptions are soon and those who might be there now to complete an adoption. Right away I imagined how I would feel if I was much further along in this process. I pray for those who may have gotten a referral for children in the affected areas. I am holding my breath on all their behalves. Thirdly, I thought of those pandas that I posted about earlier hoping that they are OK, too.
There has been too much suffering too many natural disasters both here and abroad. I wish we could come together to help all those in need regardless of politics, I allude to Myanmar, and instead of waging war and destruction we could just work on lifting humanity up. These are my wishes and hopes today --for the future. Just as I was going to publish this the NPR correspondents put more links to organizations set up to send general relief to the affected areas in Shichuan. It is a good central location to reach six reputable organizations in one click.

Hi Karin,
I just tried to follow your link to the NPR list of aid organizations and it went to a page-not-found message on their site. I looked at several articles on the quake and couldn't find the list. Do you recall where you saw it? That might help find where they moved it.
Any more news from your agency?
Tom
